December 2024 Monthly Recap Layout

Okay, so I guess I was wrong in saying I finished my 2024 albums. I realized I had two more layouts to do to finish - a December recap layout and a Christmas layout. Here is the December Recap Layout that is part of my monthly recap series.  I used up most of what I had left from the Nests of Winter DSP for this layout and love how it came out.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Even More Scrapping. You can see this sketch along with others here

The sketch was converted from 12"x12" to 8 1/2"x11" to keep with the size of my 2024 family album. I changed the photo sizes to work with the changed layout size. I added a large background piece on each page for an additional pattern. The title was cut using my Cricut and the birds I used to embellish were fussy cut from a piece of the Nests of Winter DSP.

2024 NYC Weekend Bites of NYC Layout

The final layout from our weekend in New York City is this 2-page spread. After working on the other pages I realized I had a few random photos I wanted to include so decided to pull them together into 1 layout. This layout worked well in using up almost all of my remaining Season of Green and Gold DSP.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Page Maps I found on Pinterest.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes and number to work with the new layout size. I added a photo mat under each block of photos to add some visual interest. On the right-hand page I changed the photos to be 3 rows instead of 2 since I used smaller photos for this. It worked well to help me get extra photos onto the layout - actually got a total of 12! The title is a combination of die cut letters and small letter stickers. The leafs and branches were die cut from the Season of Green and Gold DSP and I added some Gold gems to finish off the layout.

2024 NYC Weekend All That Jazz Layout

Of course, when in New York City a "must do" is to see a Broadway show. This time Meghan and I chose "Chicago". We both had always wanted to see this on stage. Having seen the movie I was not sure what to expect when on stage. Loved this! The staging of this musical was fantastic and we had such a wonderful time. Used up some more of the Season of Green and Gold suite for this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Stuck Sketches I found on Pinterest. You can see this sketch along with others here.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes and number to work with the new layout size. The leaves and branches are die cut from the Season of Green and Gold DSP paper using the Golden Greenery Dies. The title is a combination of die cut letters and small letter stickers from my stash. The faux-stitched circle wads done using a circle template and white gel pen. I added some Gold gems to finish off the layout.

2024 NYC Weekend Love Art Layout

As usual, when Meghan and I go into New York City we try to go to at least one art museum. This year we went to the Guggenheim Museum. It is such an iconic place and we had a blast checking out the various artwork there. I am still using up what I have in my stash from the Season of Green and Gold Suite from Stampin' Up for the layouts from this trip. Currently stretching the scraps for the last few layouts.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout I found on Pinterest.

2024 NYC Weekend Top of the Rock Layout

Another fun place we went while in NYC is the Top of Rockefeller Center. Neither Meghan nor I had ever been there before so it was pretty cool to see. There was a lot to take in there but the views were spectacular! I used up some more of the Season of Green and Gold DSP I had in my stash to create this layout. Love how a themed paper collection can be used for many other occasions!

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout I found on Pinterest.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes to work with the new layout size. I die cut some stars using a set from my stash. The faux-stitching was added using a white gel pan. The title was die cut using an alphabet die set from my stash. I added some Gold dots to embellish the layout.

2024 NYC Weekend Market Layout and Process Video

It was a lot of fun being in New York City during the holiday season. We enjoyed seeing all of the holiday decorations around the city and also check out several holiday markets. We really loved the one down at Bryant Park. There were lots of cool things to shop for and lots of delicious food to eat! I did a process video for this and you can see the video at the end of this post.

The inspiration for this layout came from this layout from Liz Qualman I found on Pinterest.

The sketch was converted from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and I modified the photo sizes to work with the new layout size. The papers are from the Season of Green and Gold DSP. I added an extra background layer with some additional Early Espresso cardstock and did some faux-stitching on this layer using a white gel pen and ruler. The small label bracket was die cut using the Something Fancy dies and the journaling circle was die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. The title was die cut using the Alphabet A-la-Mode die cuts. I added some die cut branches and gold dots to embellish the layout.
