Joyous Hanukkah Card and a Sketch Challenge

Finished up working on my holiday cards today with this card for my friends who celebrate Hanukkah. Had fun working with the Joyous Hanukkah stamp set that is part of the November/December catalog along with a retired embossing folder to create this.

The inspiration for this card came from this card sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I embossed a piece of White Daisy cardstock using the retired Stitched Circles embossing folder, then inked the edges using Sapphire Exclusive Ink and a dauber. I stamped on the Sapphire strip with the Sapphire ink to create a tone-on-tone pattern. I stamped the menorah image using Intense Black Exclusive Ink and then colored in using Triblend markers. I added some shimmer to the candle flames using Platinum Stickles.

I hope you like this card. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Hanukkah cards and a Challenge

I love using sketch challenges as an inspiration for my cardmaking and scrapbooking! I used a recent challenge from Freshly Made Sketches to create some Hanukkah cards for this season. I combined images from the Peace & Light stamp set with some stenciling to create this and love how it came out!

The inspiration for this card is from this sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I die cut a stitched rectangle piece from White Daisy cardstock and then used Periwinkle Exclusive Ink, a blending brush and a stencil from the Card Front Stencils pack to stencil the dot and star design on this piece. I stamped the menorah in Sundance Exclusive Ink and added some glimmer to the candle flames with Golden Rod Stickles Glitter Glue. The sentiment and leave branches are stamped in Pewter Exclusive Ink. I added a layer of Silver Glitter paper between the Sapphire cardstock layer and the White Daisy to add some additional glimmer to the card.

I hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Hanukkah Card and sketch challenge

I am participating in a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches this week and decided to work on some Hanukkah cards. I enjoyed creating this card using papers from the current Mix In paper pack from Close To My Heart along with stamps from the Shine Bright Menorah stamp set.

The sketch I followed for the challenge is this one. You can see this sketch along with other variations on it here.

I stamped the menorah using Intense Black Exclusive Ink and then colored it in with Triblend Markers. I added a little shimmer to the candles and star using the Clear Shimmer Brush. I finished off the card with some Gold Shimmer Trim and Gold Glitter Gems to add some extra sparkle.

I hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by!
