Happy Layout

Another workshop layout I taught during the Ready Set Crop Fall Frolic retreat. This one features the Cherish Collection from Close To My Heart. I showcased some additional mixed media techniques with this layout using elements from the Cherish Digital Art Collection.

This layout is also inspired by a sketch from the Close To My Heart Blog. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I embellished the layout using elements from the Digital Art Collection. I cut these on my Cricut and used 12" x 12" Acetate to cut stencils to use along with Blending Brushes and ink to add some additional color to the elements of the layout.

I love working with the Digital Art Collections as you can do so much with the images on a Cricut, Silhouette or other electronic die cut machine.

Joy Layout

Had a lot of fun creating this layout for a workshop I taught this weekend at the Ready Set Crop Fall Frolic retreat. The layout features the  Christmas Story paper along with images from the Christmas Story Digital Art Collection.

The inspiration for this layout came from a sketch from the Close To My Heart Blog. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I incorporated elements from the Digital Art Collection to embellish this layout and used some mixed media techniques to add some dimension to the elements. I used my Cricut and 12"x12" Acetate sheets to create stencils for the title and 2 ornament elements. I then used Opaque Matte Texture Paste and Solar Flare Glitter Gel to color the title and layers.

So Beautiful Layout

I have been keeping on working on the album from out Rhine River Trip during my recent Scrapbook with me events and am sharing a recent layout with everyone here today. This layout is from a wonderful evening music concert we had on board the ship while in Koblenz. It was supposed to be a string quartet but due to COVID ended up being a duet. The music played ranged from classical to contemporary and was so fun to listen to.

I am continuing to use my stash of the Hope & Kindness Collection for the layouts from this trip. I changed the layout to use just 1 photo. I embellished the layout using some hexagons I die cut along with some stickers from the Hope & Kindness Collection.

August 2022 Monthly Recap Layout and Process Video

Sharing another in my Monthly Recap Layout series today. I completed this layout during a recent Scrapbook with me event.  I pulled in some paper from the Four Seasons - Spring paper pack to create this layout. I love how the papers in the Four Seasons collection work well with many different seasons and layouts.

This layout was inspired by this sketch from Sketch Savvy. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this 12" x 12" 2-page sketch into an 8 1/2" x 11" 2-page layout to keep with my 2022 Family album format. The title is cut with my Cricut using a Digital Art file from Close To My Heart. The rings and circles were die cut using the Circles Thin Cuts set. I added some embellishments from stash along with some stickers from the Four Seasons: Spring paper pack.

Music Quiz Layout

Another layout from my Rhine River Trip Album to share with everyone. This layout was from an evening event held on board the ship where we had to identify the title, artist, decade and country of origin of the artist as part of the quiz. Mike and I did pretty well and actually came in second for the quiz and won a nice bottle of white wine which we shared with our table during dinner.

I am still using the Hope & Kindness collection for the layouts in this and combined some tags made from the cut-apart Picture My Life-style cards in the paper pack with some made from scraps I had in my stash of this collection. The title was die cut using the Slimline Alphabet Thin Cuts set and I added some acrylic stars as well as sequins to embellish the layout. I also added a few more photos using some 3"x4" Flip Flaps.

Anniversary Dinner Layout

Mike and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary recently with a delicious dinner out at a local restaurant recently. I knew I wanted to add a layout for this to our family album and completed this one during a recent Scrapbook with me event.

The inspiration for this layout comes from this sketch from Pinterest. I converted this sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work within our family album. As I have been working on this album format I have come up with a handy chart for quickly converting the pieces from the 12" x 12" sketch to work in an 8 1/2" x 11" album format. I am sharing that chart with everyone - you can download it here. The highlighted entries are for photo sizes which I tried to keep to standard sizes and may not be the actual converted sizing.

I pulled out the Cherish collection for this layout and it worked perfectly with the photos from the dinner. I love the soft patterns and colors from this collection. I added some machine zig-zag stitching along the top and bottom. I used stickers from the paper pack for the title and embellishments.
