Father's Day Layout

Finished this layout during last Wednesday's Scrapbook with me. I knew as soon as I saw the Trusty Tools stamps and dies from Stampin' Up that these would be perfect for Father's Day as Mike is definitely a very handy husband. I used the stamps and dies along with some of the 6"x6" 2023-2025 In Color paper and the Metal Plate embossing folder to create this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch I found on Pinterest.

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the album size I am currently using. I changed it from 6 spaces on the photo mat to just 4 to work with the layout size change. I added a background mat to the photo mat using pieces of the In Color patterned paper. For the scallop strip I embossed the cardstock first using the Metal Plate embossing folder before I used a scallop punch to make the border. I die cut the title using a die from the Something Fancy set and the tab at the top using the Keeping Tabs die. I did cut and stamped the tools using the cardstock, Memento Ink, and some silver paper from my stash. To embellish the layout I used some of the Smoky Slate and Basic Grey Pearls along with some ribbon from my stash.

Cool! Layout

My final layout from our Portland Maine weekend is this one from the International Cryptozoology Museum. I would never have know there was such a museum in the world let alone Portland Maine if not for Meghan finding about this. It was mainly dedicated to Sasquatch but also featured many other creatures from legends. It gave information on their history as well as how they have worked their way into our modern culture.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Even More Scrapping. You can see this sketch along with others here

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the other layouts from this trip.  I kept the photo sizes pretty close to those from the sketch. This layout worked great for using up the last of my scraps of the Lake Life collection. The title was die cut using a set from my stash and the embellishments are from the sticker sheet along with my stash.

On The Bay Layout

We enjoyed a beautiful late afternoon out on Casco Bay on an antique lobster boat. Our guide took us around the bay and islands past several lighthouses while telling us the history of the area. It was so wonderful to be out on the water on a sunny afternoon. The waves and sun were so relaxing and we had so much fun learning more about the bay and islands. I used up some more scraps of the Lake Like collection for this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Close To My Heart.

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the other layouts from this trip. I also changed it from a 2-page layout to a 1-page layout by just using the right-hand side of the sketch. The title was cut on my Cricut. I added the journaling strips, banners and changed the top photo size to work with my layout. The embellishments came from the sticker sheet from the Lake Life collection as well as my stash.

Pride Layout

While we were up in Portland we got to go to the Portland Pride Festival. I was so glad we got to take part in this in support of our children and friends. The festival started with a parade that went from Monument Square and proceeded to Deering Park. We had a blast walking around the festival with Meghan. I pulled some scraps from the May/June Mix-in paper pack to create this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Close To My Heart.

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the other layouts from this trip. I also changed it from a 2-page layout to a 1-page layout by just using the left-hand side of the sketch. The title uses an alphabet die cut from my stash. I cut each letter 4 times - for each color in the Non-Binary flag. I then (tried to) cut even layers from the 4 colors to piece into the title. The embellishments also came from my stash.

I have been so excited recently to be able to start creating workshops again using the Stampin' Up products. I had shared my card workshop and now am happy to share my newest scrapbook workshop featuring the Wildly Flowering Suite. I combined the Double-Sided Patterned paper from the suite with the stamp set and die cuts to create thes 6 layouts and love how well these work for documenting everyday memories.

Cheers Layout

While up in Portland we took a tour of the Allagash Brewery. It was fun to see behind the scenes there and get to taste a few different varieties of their beer. Mike, Meghan, and I agreed that the Allagash White was our favorite. I continued using papers from the Lake Life collection for this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Close To My Heart.

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11".  I also changed this from a 2-page sketch into a 1-page layout by working with the left-hand side of the sketch. changed the 5x7 photo to 2 3x4 photos as well as adding another photo in the title block area. The title was die cut using a set from my stash. I added a shadow layer to offset it. I added some banners on the top of the layout as some additional embellishments.

Throw It Layout

Meghan and I took a clay wheel throwing class recently since we both wanted to learn how to make pottery. It was so much fun (though a little messy)! It was definitely tough working on the wheel since you use a lot of arm, hand and shoulder strength - which as you know I have had a shoulder replaced recently. I started this layout during a recent Scrapbook with me but waited to share it until I had pictures of the final pieces after they were glazed and fired. Love how they came out!

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Crafts by Rowena. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted the sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11".  I changed the photo size to work with the changed layout size. I used some of the Mix-Ins papers for this layout. The title is a combination of die cut and sticker letters from my stash. I added just a few enamel dots next to the title instead of around the half-circle as shown in the sketch.
