Father's Day Layout

Finished up my Father's Day crafting with this layout I did during my most recent Scrapbook with me event.

I kept with the same papers and colors I had used for the Father's Day card and the breakfast tray extras and used up my remaining stash of the May/June Mix-In paper pack. The inspiration for this layout came from this 1-page sketch from Basic Grey. You can see this sketch along with others here.

To turn this 1-page sketch into a 2-page layout I mirrored the sketch on the right-hand page and then flipped it upside down. The title was cut using the Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts along with the Uppercase Simple Serif and Lowercase Simple Serif Thin Cuts. I cut the "DAD" from White Daisy cardstock and then added some color using Bluebelle Exclusive Ink and a waterbrush to create a "washed" effect.

The circles were cut using the Circle Thin Cuts and I added some extra embellishment to this using some Clear Sparkles.

I hope you like the layout. Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the awesome dads out there! I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and father to our two girls! We love celebrating this day with him every year!

This year I had a lot of fun creating this card using the No Ordinary Dad stamp set combined with the May/June Mix-Ins.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts to cut the background piece and then used the Medium Round Waterbrush and Bluebelle Exclusive Inks to highlight some of the words in the stamped quote.

In addition I used stamps from the My Dad Rocks and Best Dad Ever stamp sets to decorate the tray for our Father's Day tradition of breakfast in bed.

The pancake sign uses the Stitched Fancy Brackets Thin Cuts. I sandwiched a couple pieces of a wooden skewer between two pieces to hold it upright. The straw banner was just done with a kraft straw and a couple of pennant shaped pieces of paper. The juice glass wrap uses the Circle Thin Cuts.

I hope you liked the card and extras. Thanks for stopping by!

Octoberfest Layout

I have been a bit quiet lately, but luckily through my Scrapbook with Me events have been keeping up with my scrapbooking. I am in love with this layout from my most recent event and am excited to share it with you here.

This layout was inspired by the following sketch from Scrapbook Generation. You can find this sketch along with others here.

We continued to work on how to take a 1-page sketch and make it into a 2-page layout during this event.  For my version I moved the photos and papers over to the inside edge of each page. I also substituted 4x3 photos for the 3x4 photos so I changed up the dimensions on the strips of patterned paper a bit to fit the new sizing.

I dug into my stash of the retired Grateful Heart paper for this layout. This collection has probably been one of my favorites over the years. My friends say it's because I love Fall and the colors in it - they are probably right.

I used some wood embellishments along with some machine stitching to add some additional dimension to the layout. I also put some 3-D Foam tape under the banners along the top to pop them up a bit.

I hope you like this layout. If you are interested in joining me for one of my Scrapbook with Me events, make sure to like and follow my Facebook page to get the notifications for upcoming events.
