Our Getaway Layout

Sharing a layout I did at a recent workshop at the Ready Set Crop Winter Wonderland weekend. This layout features the Are We There Yet Collection that is part of the January - March Catalog from Close To My Heart. I loved working with the papers in this collection. The fun colors and patterns are going to be perfect for many of our travels.

The base layout design comes from this sketch from the Close To My Heart blog. You can see this sketch along with others here. 

I changed up the sketch a little and instead of 2 1/2" tall pieces below the large background piece I used a 1" tall piece that I stamped with the Are We There Yet Borders Stamp set and colored in with Watercolor Pencils. I also added some stamped from the Are We There Yet Scrapbooking Stamp set for the title and other embellishments.

It is fun to incorporate stamped images in your scrapbooking whether using a set made for scrapbooking or for cardmaking there are so many possibilities for creating your own embellishments.

Ruks Museum Layout

Getting back on track in 2023 and one step closer to finishing up the album from our Rhine River Trip. Completed this layout during the most recent Scrapbook with me event to record our visit to the Ruks Museum in Amsterdam.

The inspiration for this layout comes from this sketch from Even More Scrapping. You can see this sketch along with others here.

Instead of using patterned paper for the larger background pieces I used an SVG from the Life's A Hoot Digital Art Collection. I cut this image on my Cricut for each page and then used some scrap patterned paper to add something extra behind some of the openings. The title was die cut using the Slimline Alphabet Thin Cuts set.

Workshop Wow: Four Seasons

I have been loving working with the Four Seasons Collection from the Close To My Heart 2022-2023 Core Catalog in my layouts since the new catalog came out and am so excited for this new special. Happy Hanukkah cards and a Challenge

I love using sketch challenges as an inspiration for my cardmaking and scrapbooking! I used a recent challenge from Freshly Made Sketches to create some Hanukkah cards for this season. I combined images from the Peace & Light stamp set with some stenciling to create this and love how it came out!

I die cut a stitched rectangle piece from White Daisy cardstock and then used Periwinkle Exclusive Ink, a blending brush and a stencil from the Card Front Stencils pack to stencil the dot and star design on this piece. I stamped the menorah in Sundance Exclusive Ink and added some glimmer to the candle flames with Golden Rod Stickles Glitter Glue. The sentiment and leave branches are stamped in Pewter Exclusive Ink. I added a layer of Silver Glitter paper between the Sapphire cardstock layer and the White Daisy to add some additional glimmer to the card.
