Every Photo Has A Story Layout and a Process Video

I finally did some scrapbooking of my recent shoulder surgery. I had a lot of photos but wanted to keep the layout simple so I used Flip Flaps to add the additional photos and not detract from the layout itself. I pulled out my stash of paper from the Skylark collection that was a recent Bring Back My Pack special from Close To My Heart. I am sharing the details of this layout here along with a process video that you can see at the end of the post.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Page Maps You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" as that is the layout size I have been working in. I kept the photos close to the original size but cut down the number on the right page from 3 to 2. I did use Flip Flaps on both pages to add more photos as well as hide some that are a little sensitive - like the picture of the scar on my shoulder. The title was stamped from a set in my stash using Intense Black Exclusive Ink and then I colored in the word STORY using Colorista Pencils. I did some shading variations to darken the bottom of each letter.

You can watch my scrapbook process on this video from my YouTube channel.

Breakout Layout

My younger daughter, Nicole, works at a local Escape Room place called Breakout. She had to work on New Year's Eve during the day so Mike, Meghan and I decided to go there and do the room she was assigned to that day - Haunted Mansion. It was a lot of fun. We got a lot of laughs out of the session as well as our interaction with Nicole over the intercom while doing the game.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Page Maps. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12' x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and modified the photo size to work with the new layout size. The title was stamped with an alphabet set from my stash and I then added a "swoosh" over the letters. The pennants were created with some strips of paper that were dovetailed and attached to toothpicks. I tied them together with some twine from my stash.

December Monthly Recap Layout

Finished my Monthly Recap Layout series for 2023 with this one for December. I love doing these monthly recap layouts as they are a perfect place for those random photos from the monthly that may not necessarily work for another layout. I pulled out my stash of the Evergreen collection for this layout.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Page Maps. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12' x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and modified the photo size to work with the new layout size. The title is stamped on brackets from the Scalloped Brackets thin cuts set using a stamp set from my stash. I added some stickers, die cuts and sparkles to embellish the layout.

Holiday Pops Layout

December was a fun and busy month for us and Mike and I were fortunate to be able to go see the Boston Pops Holiday concert at Symphony Hall. We got tickets and arranged to meet Nicole in Boston for dinner before we went to the concert. We had a wonderful time and I hope we can do this again next year!

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Crafty Busy Bees. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12' x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" and modified the photo sizes to work with the page size change. The paper is from the Home for Christmas collection. The title is a combination of stamped letters and die cut letters from my stash. I also added some flowers, buttons and ribbon to embellish the layout.

Trim the Tree Layout

The next layout I want to share is this one from our family trim-the-tree tradition. It started when Meghan was away at college. We would decorate the rest of the house and put up the tree but could not put the ornaments on until we were all together. We would have a yummy sushi dinner (our family favorite) and decorate the tree while playing Christmas music in the background. Love doing this every year.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Dusty Attic. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12' x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" as well as made it into a 2-page layout by mirroring the left-page on the right-page. I modified the photo sizes to work with the page size change. The paper and stickers are from the Silver Bells collection. The title was die cut using the Slim Alphabet Thin Cuts set. I added some Clear Sparkles to finish off the layout.

Grateful Layout

I am finally getting back into some regular scrapbooking and cardmaking since my shoulder surgery. I completed this layout during the 1st Scrapbook with me I held after the surgery. It took a bit of time to get to blog it as working on the computer has not been as easy. I had fun creating this layout from last Thanksgiving during this event.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Citrus Twist. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted the sketch to 8 1/2" x 11" to work with the size I use for my albums. I changed the photo size to work with the new layout size. The paper came from my stash and I added some enamel dot embellishments from Close To My Heart on the layout. The title was cut from a pocket scrapbooking card from my stash as well.

Hoppin Down The Bunny Trail Card

Finally getting back into my crafting a bit as I recover from the shoulder surgery. I created this Easter card this past weekend on a girls weekend away. I used the Honey Bunny collection for this with the paper, stamp set and embellishments.

The inspiration for this card came from Pinterest. I used the Honey Bunny Scrapbooking stamp set for the images and sentiment. I love being able to use the stamp sets differently from their original purpose. I stamped the images in Intense Black Exclusive Ink and then colored in using the Colorista Bright & Vivid Colored Pencils. I added some retired Blush ribbon and some of the Honey Bunny Dots to finish the card.

I hope you like this card. Thanks for stopping by!
