Away Layout

Mike and I did a long weekend out in The Berkshires last weekend. We stayed in Lenox and spent the weekend exploring the area. It was fun to have a nice weekend away. I had been holding on to the Change of Scenery Workshop kit from National Scrapbook Month for just this project. Started scrapbooking the pictures from the weekend during Wednesday's Scrapbook with me.

The inspiration for this layout came from this sketch from Allison Davis. You can see this sketch along with others here.

I converted this sketch from 12" x 12" to 8 1/2" x 11" since I am working in this format for most of my projects now. I used a hexagon punch to punch out the hexagons from the patterned paper in the kit along with some coordinating cardstock colors. It took awhile to layout the hexagons to get to the pattern I liked before adhering to the base page. I changed out the 2 3"x4" photos for 1 5"x3 1/2" photo and double matted it to make it stand out. The title comes from the sticker sheet from the kit and the embellishments come from the die cuts in the kit. I did some lines on some of the hexagons using a Black LePen.
