Weekend Fun!

Just got to say I am thankful to my family and friends for supporting what I do! Crazy, busy weekend last weekend but had so much fun! I got to spend the day Saturday scrapbooking with some wonderful ladies as I kicked off what will hopefully be monthly day crops at my house. Make sure you follow me on Facebook or are subscribed to my newsletter so you can get updates on upcoming day crops and workshops.

On Sunday the girls and I got to celebrate Mike! So thankful for such a wonderful husband and fantastic father to our girls. We followed our family tradition of breakfast in bed and then the girls helped me make him dinner of his choice in the evening - his choice being filet and scalloped potatoes. Yum! After dinner we all went to enjoy some ice cream at one of our local places. So much fun!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and got the opportunity to celebrate Father's Day with their loved ones!

Motivation Monday

Sharing a bit of what gets me motivated when I feel in a scrapbooking or card making funk. I follow quite a few sketch blogs and I find that seeing the sketches and what others have created with that sketch helps get my creativity going.

Today I wanted to work on cards for Father's Day so I hoped on over to Freshly Made Sketches to check out the latest sketch and it was just the push that I needed. Here is my finished card and the sketch that inspired it.

Hope you enjoy the card. Comment with what helps you get motivated to craft.

Tips and Tricks Tuesday

Today is the start of what I hope will be a weekly series (maybe monthly storage start). I plan on sharing a tips and tricks video each Tuesday - the video could be a quick tip and trick as today's is or a more complex one.

Today I focused on the tip I mentioned with the last layout I posted as well as during my Facebook Live video - How to Color Ribbon Using Ink and Daubers. This is really helpful when you don't have a color ribbon you need for either a scrapbook layout or a card. It uses supplies that most scrapbookers and card makers have laying around.

In this video I used the Sapphire Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, White Cotton Ribbon and Daubers from Close To My Heart. You can shop for all of these items on my Independent Consultant online store.

I do hope you enjoy this video and hope to have more for you in the upcoming weeks!

Catching up with life

Hi everyone! So sorry I haven't been keeping you all up to date with the goings on here. It has been a crazy couple of weeks since I last posted. We had Mother's Day, dance recital rehearsals, the recital itself, Junior Prom and I did my first Facebook Online Catalog Party with CTMH and even did a Facebook Live video as part of it. Just wanted to pop in and catch you all up-to-date here.

Even though recital time was crazy, to say the least, I always get so emotional as I watch Nicole on stage dancing. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and next year will be her last on stage with her dance studio. Just have to share with you all one of my favorite pictures from the recital.

The same day as prom Nicole had her Junior Prom to get ready and go to. It was a whirlwind of activity getting home from the recital, getting her hair done in a gorgeous up-do (thanks to my friend Taylor), getting dressed and then heading off with her friends.

With these events over I was able to concentrate on getting ready for my first Facebook Online Catalog Party and with so much wonderful support from all of you I even did my first Facebook Live Video to kickoff the party. You can watch the video anytime from my Facebook page. Again, I owe you all a big thanks!

Now we are moving on to what I hope will be a monthly event and I have the basement room all ready for doing day crops and workshops. I hope you will be able to join me as I schedule these events. If you do not follow my Facebook page please do so to get updates on the dates and times for any upcoming events!

Coming Soon

Well, step one in this project is done! The pool table is no longer in the basement room and we are on the way to having this room to use for what I hope to be monthly crops and workshops.

Stay tuned for updates!

National Scrapbooking Month Sketch

Sharing my take on the free sketch from Close To My Heart for National Scrapbook Month.

I had fun working on this layout as I challenged myself to think outside the box and use different collections together. In this I used the Basics Fundamentals Paper Pack along with the Enchantment Cardstock Combo Pack.

I didn't have any ribbon in the color I wanted to work with so I used daubers and ink to color some cream ribbon to coordinate with the layout.

I used the May Stamp of the Month for the title and stamped embellishments and I cut the label for the title using the Cricut Art Philosophy Bundle in the Cricut Design Space. I wanted to add a little something to the title and embellishments so I used Liquid Glass to give the lemonade a shiny effect.

I hope you like it! I would love to hear what you think and see what you have made with this sketch yourselves. Click here to download the sketch and cutting diagram for yourself.

Welcome to my crazy crafty life!

Welcome to my blog. I hope to share with my readers my passions - my family and my love of crafting, cooking and reading. To start I want to take you on a tour of my scraproom. This is what I call my "place for zen". Scrapbooking and card making have been two of the crafts I have been doing the longest. Of course, the room does not usually look this clean.  I most often have several projects going on at one time.

View from the door to my room.

My main crafting table.

Patterned paper, card stock and idea book storage.

Embellishment storage.

My side table where my laptop resides along with my Silhouette and Cricut machines.

My stamp set storage.

Side area for my Big Shot, die storage and ink pad storage.

Punch storage.

My printer stand. Love my older Epson R260 - have had this for years and it keeps on going strong. The smaller one is an Epson Picturemate PM400 that is great for taking to crops and retreats to print on the go.
